主要考查考生对谈话的主旨大意或所谈论话题的理解。常见的提问方式有：

(二)推理题
主要考查考生对文章主旨大意或重要细节的引申含义的理解。常见的提问方式有：
What can we infer from the conversation?
What is the relationship between the speakers?
Where does the conversation take place?
(三)细节题
主要考查考生对文章的细节内容确切含义的理解。事实细节题是出现频率最高的一种题型。常见的提问方式有：
How did the woman learn about the process she describes?
Which of following did the woman not visit?
Where can the man find the relevant magazine articles?
Why didn’t the man choose the evening class?
